Since late 2009, the federal government of Nicargua has been doing an outstanding job on the highway system in our area.

Of the 4 routes to the Pacific Coast from the Pan American highway in the area of Leon. Two are paved to the standard shown, the third is past 50% complete and shown above. This road is to the port town "Puerto Sandino" at the south end of our island.

By end of 2011, the only ocean road in our area not paved will be the road to our island
