On Isla Real Las Penas, the major developers recently organized into an association to coordinate island improvements for all island owners. The intent is to ensure economies of scale and coordinate the delivery of common infrastructure services.

Extensive planning and testing in relation to road work, water upgrades, and sewage systems has been in progress for over a year. Over the last 4 months, consideration of each developments house and clubhouse plan was required to finalize the comprehensive infrastructure plan. In particular, electrical requirements for each development have been closely reviewed. Sewage treatment has been organized into a central plant for all users. The agreed road work plan will widen the island approach road to four lanes, add drainage and finish with a crushed/compacted local rock, providing an excellent base for future paving. The on island road will be 2 lanes and will have be a two lane, environmental paving system as shown in this picture.
