Soil testing for project road construction is underway.
In preparation for anticipated road grading, we are testing the road base. We will use the information to engineer a road compaction design for the sandy island soil. . The Leon municipality (Alcaldia) has plans to pave the initial 6.8km of our roadway leading to the project, from the Pan America highway to the town of Salinas Grandes. We understand that the federal government is looking at a substantial nation road improvement program in the coming years.

Completely New 2 Mile Section of Island Approach Road

Nicaprojects build a new access roadway to the island. This section was the 9km point to the 11.5 km point. This work took over two months to complete. This road is a municipal road, however, had been decommissioned from service. This route shortened the travel time to Tamarindo Beach and requires less annual maintenance. Additionally, it has vastly improved the access for the salt farming & shrimp industries close to the project.
