Phase 1 electrical service steadily moves to completion, expected in 2012.  The secondary island concrete power poles, transformers, line hardware and over 14 kilometers of wire stringing are in process at this time, in late 2011. The 25,000 volt island service ends its' run at the mid island area. The last six months have seen extensive 3rd party inspection of the work completed prior to June 2011, with a significant defeciency list to be attended to. Having to remove and reset the concrete base of over 70 out of 90 new poles in total, was a significant task, at an increased cost of about 30% of the contract. However, this defeciency work is now complete, and the concrete poles are now secure and stable. The system is now ready to receive insulators and high voltage wire. The island development association continues to work smoothly together on this project, as it moves to completion.
