The surf lodge at the south end of the island has been sold again to an English couple in 2010.

We built the lodge in 2008/2009 and it was sold in 2009 to an Oregon based surf tour operator. At the time, this was the only surf tour operator in the area. In 2011, there are at least 5 surf tour operators in the area to our knowledge. It is also possible to get a reasonable meal on the beach at Salinas Grandes in 2011, which was not available in 2008
